Some of the biggest health issues facing our feline friends can be directly attributed to the lack of moisture in many cats\u2019 diets. Cats don\u2019t love to drink still water, and often won\u2019t hunt down the clear stuff at all, so they are prone to issues like crystals and urinary tract infections. Not having enough moisture means they don\u2019t have enough to break up and flush out mineral deposits. You\u2019ll see signs of this in frequent or seemingly uncomfortable urination, straining, blood in their urine or stinky pee.<\/span><\/p>\n

So what do you need to do to help fix this issue?<\/p>\n

  1. More moisture in their food. Choose a frozen raw food or a wet food (pouch or can) that comes with a broth, gravy or consomm\u00e9 surrounding the protein.<\/li>\n
  2. Moisten dry, dehydrated or freeze-dried food. Start today and work up to significantly more moisture, if you\u2019re strictly feeding kibble. Add at least one wet meal a day to your feline\u2019s diet.<\/li>\n
